In his manifesto, Yves Klein claimed to have signed the firmament in Nice in 1946, thereby creating his first monochrome blue painting. I traveled to Nice to remove this signature in the presence of an official appraiser, restoring the sky to the public domain. The result—a flawless blue sky without any signature—was certified by an official document.
