The Happy Buddha is a popular souvenir for tourists in Asia. Rubbing his round belly is believed to bring good luck. A wooden figure of this kind was drilled with holes and placed outdoors as a nesting site for wild bees. Within just a few days, many of the holes were filled and sealed with larvae and pollen.
