Simultanhalle Cologne
The Simultanhalle was originally constructed in 1979 as a test building for the Museum Ludwig in Cologne, designed by architects Busmann + Haberer. Its purpose was to experiment with lighting, wall, and floor materials, as well as to test the practicality of the planned shed roof construction, which later became a distinctive feature of the final museum building . In the aging hall, scaffolding was used to create a platform at window height. The deck chairs placed upon it invited visitors to leisurely indulge in the view of the sky.
